Condition of the Artwork Before Restoration

The base of the artwork is stable, and there are no signs of activity from woodworm. However, the piece has undergone a poorly executed cleaning attempt in the past, which utilized inappropriate and overly aggressive methods. As a result, the painting exhibits uneven residues of varnish layers, remnants of secondary interventions, and surface dirt.

Furthermore, the artwork shows areas of abrasion, with sections of the upper layers of paint lost entirely. Numerous defects are present, reaching down to the underlying support. In some exceptional cases, parts of the support are missing altogether.
